Welcome to The Nurse Abroad!
After facing years of burnout as a nurse, and living long distance from my husband located abroad, I decided enough was enough. Even though I didn’t feel ready, I quit my nursing job and dropped everything to move to Central America!
Even though moving here was the right choice, I also had a holy sh*t what do I do now moment after quitting my nursing job.
The Nurse Abroad is a place for all nurses living and traveling abroad to connect and share resources. We can help each other professionally and learn from each other’s stories.
Whether you’re on an international travel nursing assignment or working abroad as a digital nomad in healthcare technology, this is the place for you if you want to learn from an amazing community of nurses who share your passion for life and travel abroad!
I’m Lindsay and I was a burnt-out staff nurse 4 years ago working the night shift on an oncology floor. I had a 2-week vacation and I really wanted to travel abroad. I booked a 2-week trip to Central America.
On that trip, I was reminded of my love for travel, adventure, and learning new languages. (I also happened to meet a boy on that trip who would later become my husband!) I became determined to change my life so I could both explore the world and spend more time getting to know that cute boy in the photo…
Four years later, I’m here married to Ariel, and living in Central America as we await his US visa. I started The Nurse Abroad as a way to connect with other nurses living and traveling abroad. I can’t wait to get to know you, and thanks for being here!
